Richard Madden New 11/4 Joint Favourite To Be Next Bond
Next James Bond After Daniel Craig
Richard Madden is the joint favourite to replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond after saying it was ‘very flattering’ to see his name linked to the role.
The Bodyguard star was quizzed by a journalist at the Cannes Film festival whether his appointment as the next 007 was already a done deal, and while he claimed such rumours were speculation only, he said he was happy to be ‘involved in the conversation at all.’
We now have Madden as the 11/4 joint favourite alongside Avengers star Tom Hiddleston,
…while Idris Elba continues to enjoy his fair share of support as the 5/1 third favourite.
Filming is underway on Craig’s fifth and final appearance as Bond but the race to succeed him has been hotting up, with a niece of James Bond creator Ian Fleming naming Richard Madden, Idris Elba and Cillian Murphy as her three favourites to fill the void when Craig bows out.
Cork-born Murphy is a 6/1 shot to make the transition from Peaky Blinder to Secret Service Agent and become the second Irish-born actor after Pierce Brosnan to portray the silver screen’s most famous spy.
