Robbie Power On Jetez, Jetz and More

Jetz was 3rd in the novice chase at Punchestown yesterday, the ground was probably a bit soft for him but I was very impressed.

Winter Escape
The winner of the race, Winter Escape, looks back to his best form. When Alan King had him as a novice hurdler he was very highly thought of.

That was a very good performance yesterday giving plenty of weight to A Plus Tard who came in 2nd.

He travelled well and came off a strong pace so it was a good performance from him.

Felix Desjy
Jetez came in 2nd in the novice hurdle behind a really good race from Felix Desjy. He jumped out and ran a good gallop all the way and we were all in behind him.

It was a good performance from him, I thought he might just fall in a hole but he didn’t, he picked up and galloped all the way to the line.

He was very impressive when he won his maiden hurdle at the start of the season in Galway and then he lost his form. He didn’t quite get home over Christmas over 2 1/2m but yesterday back to 2m and it was very positive ride from him.

Jetez
Jetez will have plenty of options, he can go to the Dublin Racing Festival and go for a handicap hurdle there. He could step back into novice company as well but probably the Dublin Racing Festival and the handicap would be the better option for him.

He was a good winner of a handicap at Leopardstown over Christmas and he could run a big race in the Curragh hurdle or one of those 2m handicaps.

Jetz
We’ll probably just pick and choose our way with Jetz. He might just fall a bit short of Grade 1 but he will step up to 3m at some stage in the season as well and he’s definitely a better horse going left handed than he is going right handed so I’d imagine he might go to Leopardstown. He has loads of options too.

We’re still crying out for rain. Fairyhouse on Saturday was good ground and yesterday at Punchestown the hurdle track was too but the chase track was a bit slower.

Unfortunately I’m suspended for tomorrow’s racing so I’ll miss out on a couple of rides at Fairyhouse including Try Again who was an impressive winner of a handicap hurdle and I’d give him a good chance in the graded novice hurdle tomorrow at 2.00.
