Roberto Martinez Odds Plummets For Tottenham Job

Roberto Martinez has made a swift move up the betting to be appointed permanent manager at Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Everton boss, who is set to lead Belgium at the European Championships as one of the tournament favourites, was reported on Tuesday

to be in talks with the Spurs hierarchy as they seek a permanent replacement for Jose Mourinho

…following his dismissal last month.

A gamble on Martinez saw him slashed into 7/4 from 20/1, making him the new favourite for the role with a return to club management said to be high on his agenda after Euro 2020.

The move on Martinez came just hours after Mauricio Pochettino was linked with a shock return to North London after his Paris St. Germain side were pipped to the Ligue 1 title by Lille at the weekend.

The Argentine has also entered the frame at 2/1 from 20/1, with Nuno Espirito Santo (11/4), Erik Ten Hag (4/1) and Graham Potter (5/1) all still believed to be in the mix.
