Sally & Ariel Battle For Favouritism In Con & Annie Kirby Memorial

Greyhound racing was of the highest quality on Saturday night with new names now at the top of the betting in the Con & Annie Kirby Memorial.

Both Singalong Sally and Ballymac Ariel qualified into the next round and although they didn’t win,

the talented ladies are now the 6/1 joint ante post favourites to win the big pot of €80,000.

Ballymac Ariel was third in her heat with Graham Holland’s speedy Fabulous Azurra the winner in a decent time of 28.26, one of the fastest in the competition so far. This daughter of Magical Bale – Fabulous Artist, has plummeted into 8/1 from 20/1 making her one of the biggest movers following the second round.

Singalong Sally was not her as fast away as she has been recently but still ran a good effort behind Stonepark Leon in 28.78 with his odds now into 25/1 from 40/1.

Explosive Boy has lost his grip on favouritism as he only managed to grab third spot in heat 4.

Deadly Destroyer was the winner and in fine style too, clocking 28.52 which has seen his odds cut into 10/1 from 12/1. De Machine ran on strong for second but has been pushed out to 20/1 from 16/1 while Explosive Boy is 7/1 from 5/1 for trainer Patrick Guilfoyle.

Other heat winners that have seen their odds tumble are Scarty Yank (14/1 from 33/1), Agent Stanley (20/1 from 50/1) and Envoi (50/1 from 150/1).
