Seeley’s Selections – Europa League Preview & Tips

Last week showed us we don’t need any British participation in the Europa League to make any money and Thursday’s action is exactly the same with four matches for us to get punting on.

Napoli v Wolfsburg, ITV4, 8:05
It’s the quarter-final second legs on Thursday and the first game we have to start with is the clash in Naples between Napoli and Wolfsburg.

Napoli produced the performance of the tournament last week when travelling to Germany and hammering the then tournament favourites 4-1 in their own backyard.

This tie is over as far as who is going to make the semi-finals, but I still think Napoli are very underrated with the BoyleSports odds compilers at 5/4 for this one.

Napoli boss Rafa Benitez has an excellent record in Europe, winning the Champions League and Europa League with Liverpool and Chelsea respectively and he will want to send a marker down to the remaining teams in the tournament with another win in this one.

I do think this will be another high scoring game and the 1/2 on both teams scoring is short with BoyleSports, but is a banker for the night’s multiple bets.

Wolfsburg have scored in 23 of their last 25 games and I do think they will score again on Thursday, but not enough for them to cause any concern for Rafa.

Napoli have only lost once in their last 11 matches at the Stadio San Paolo and with 10 goals in their last three games this is the wrong time to play the Partenopei.

Mark Hamsik showed what a quality player he is with a brace last week.

He was a constant menace to the Wolfsburg defence and with three goals in his last three games the 31/10 with BoyleSports on the Slovakian scoring at anytime looks tasty.

Seeley’s Selection:
Both Teams To Score – Yes @ 1/2
Marek Hamsik Anytime Scorer @ 10/3

Zenit v Sevilla

Sevilla travel to Russia to take on Zenit and they will make the long trip knowing that they should be arriving in Siberia with more than a one goal lead.

Sevilla saw off a depleted Zenit side 2-1 last week and that away goal, could be set to hurt them in this one.

Zenit welcome back a whole host of the players who missed last week including talisman Hulk who is 11/2 to open the scoring in this one, and I think they will be too strong for the Spanish outfit. At 13/10 with BoyleSports they are a bet.

Zenit are unbeaten in their last eight home matches and I expect that to continue with a 1-0 victory which is 7/1 with BoyleSports.

Seeley’s Selections:
Zenit To Win @ 13/10
Correct Score Zenit 1-0 @ 7/1

Fiorentina v Dinamo Kiev

Fiorentina suffered a shock 1-0 home defeat to Verona at the weekend in Serie A, but The Viola will bounce back with a win against Dynamo Kiev and book a place in the semi-finals.

Khoma Babacar scored a last minute equaliser in the Ukraine and that has turned the tie massively in the Italians’ favour.

Fiorentina have been prolific at home in the Europa League and the same can’t be said about Dynamo Kiev’s away form with three loses in their last four matches and at 3/4 with BoyleSports the Italians are a confident pick for this one.

I wouldn’t put you off a nice treble of Napoli, Zenit and Fiorentina which will pay a little bit bigger than 8/1.

Seeley’s Selection:
Fiorentina To Win @ 3/4

Dnipro v Club Brugge

The final game between Dnipro and Club Brugge brought us a tasty winner last week when we went for no goalscorer and I can see that happening again in this second leg.

Both of these sides would never have dreamed they had any chance of making a European semi-final at the start of the season and nerves will play a big part in this one.

Dnipro have nominal home advantage, with this game being played in Kiev and the Ukrainians haven’t conceded a goal in their last four matches with two of them finishing goalless and against a Brugge side who are unbeaten in 15 Europa League matches this season.

This will be very tight. No goalscorer is a massive 7/1 with BoyleSports.

Seeley’s Selection:
No Goalscorer @ 7/1
