Seeley’s Selections – FA Cup – West Ham v Everton

West Ham v Everton

Match Betting

A very tricky looking FA Cup third round replay is what we BoyleSports punters have got to pick the bones out of on Tuesday night when West Ham entertain Everton under the lights at Upton Park live on BT Sport.

West Ham would have thought they did all the hard work and booked their place in the fourth round last week only for them to have to do it all again after Romelu Lukaku’s last gasp equaliser, but they will fancy their chances of coming through this one.

Both of these teams will be taking this competition very, very seriously and there is no chance of any first regulars been rested and with a fourth round draw away at either Doncaster or Bristol City the winners will already be dreaming of a possible Wembley appearance in May.

The Hammers are favourites at 13/10 to win inside the 90-minutes and it’s hard to disagree with that, they are five without victory though, but at home they are as solid as they come with just one defeat in their last nine matches. The Upton Park faithful started the season with just survival on their minds but the brand of football served up has been a pleasant surprise and with seven of the last nine West Ham games seeing both teams scoring, I fully expect goals in this one as well.

I do like “yes” to both teams scoring as my first bet as this fixture also has a long history of goals with both teams finding then net 12 times in the last 15 meetings between the two and at 4/6 that’s my BoyleSports banker of the evening.

Finding a winner though, well that’s is a bit more tricky. Everton have been the major disappointment of the season for me with just one win in their last 11 games. The Blues find themselves on exactly the same number of points that Wigan were at this stage of the season when Roberto Martinez won them the FA Cup and got them relegated in the same season. Martinez is man under pressure but with two plucky 1-1 draws in their last two matches against tonight’s opponents and champions Manchester City at the weekend they are still showing some team spirit and dedication towards the gaffer.

I think we could be in for a long evening on Tuesday and extra-time and penalties could be on the evening menu. The Hammers have drawn their last three matches and Everton their last two and another stalemate at BoyleSports’ 12/5, in a match where I really can’t split the two and means so much to both sides looks the call yet again in this one. All five of those draw matches ended 1-1 and 5/1 with BoyleSports on another one here, well that isn’t the worst bet around.

B Lucky!
