Seeley’s Selections – Sunday’s Live Matches

Stats

The big game of the Premier League this weekend is without doubt the Manchester Derby live from the Ethiad on Sunday lunchtime.

Man City v Man United, Sunday 1.30pn, Sky Sports 1
City are the 10/11 favourites with Boylesports to win here and even though some may be tempted by that price, I’m not one of them. They’ve lost their last two games and didn’t seem very bothered about the Capital One Cup going down 2-0 to Newcastle in midweek. In their last three matches, they’ve conceded two goals in every game and that will be a big concern from them when free scoring United make the short-trip across town.

City have a massive match midweek in a ‘must win’ Champions League clash with CSKA Moscow and arguably the top brass at the Ethiad will look at that as a bigger match than this one; the fans may have a different opinion. United arrive here in good nick with just one defeat in their last seven games and they will really fancy their chances of an upset at 31/10 with Boylesports. The performance last time out against Chelsea was their best of the season so far and if they produce that again, they will beat this City side.

Robin Van Persie scored in that one and hopefully that goal can kick start his season, I’m taking the Dutchman to open the scoring here at 13/2. Remember, Boylesports will double the odds on your winning First Goalscorer bet if he scores within the first 20 minutes!

One thing which is always guaranteed when these two meet is goals. Last season City won this match 4-1 which is 22/1 to happen again this time around and the season before, United came away with a 3-2 victory which is priced at 25/1.

Both teams have scored in the last five United games and in five of the last seven City games so if you are planning a BTTS accumulator, then this should do down as the banker of the weekend at 4/7 with Boylesports.

Seeley’s Selections:
Robin van Persie First Goalscorer @ 13/2 (Double Bubble 13/1)
Both teams to score @ 4/7

Aston Villa v Tottenham, Sunday 4pm, Sky Sports 1
We all know that Aston Villa are struggling for goals at the moment and the last thing you want when morale is at a low is a visit from a team that have battered you by an aggregate 10-0 in their last three visits to you gaff.

Well thats the exact problem that Villa have this weekend with they entertain Tottenham at Villa Park. Paul Lambert’s young Villa side were at the top of the table after just three games and they have now slid down to 15th and haven’t scored a goal in 450 minutes.

Boylesports punters haven’t given up just yet in Lambert’s side; it must be the Roy Keane affect, but I have. They make them 14/5 to win this one and on the evidence of the performance against QPR on Monday I couldn’t get involved in that. Tottenham are also on a terrible run of just one win in their last seven matches and hardly the kind of form which would tempt me to get involved in the 21/20 with Boylesports either.

Their recent record at Villa Park is mighty impressive. They met twice last season and they won them both convincingly 4-0 and 2-0 and prior to that they won by another 4-0 scoreline the season before last. I do think Spurs will win but at 21/20 it’s not a price that tempts me; if they do win they are more than likely to win to “nil” which is a much better way to play them at 13/5 with Boylesports.

It’s well documented about Villa’s problems scoring goals, but they also have major issues at the opposite end too. They’ve conceded at least two goals in their last five matches and I can see Tottenham cruising to a comfortable 2-0 win at 9/1.

Christian Benteke hasn’t scored yet this season and doesn’t look match fit to me, I couldn’t get involved with the 11/2 on him or any Villa player opening the scoring.
The Belgium international could still be playing now against QPR and wouldn’t have found the net.

Tottenham strikers have been far from prolific either this season so Harry Kane, Emmanuel Adebayor and always Roberto Soldado are worth opposing.

Eric Lamela would be my choice of the first goalscorer for Tottenham at 15/2.
Remember “Double Bubble” if the Argentinian or any player scores the opener inside the first 20 minutes – Boylesports will double the winning First Goalscorer odds so you would be getting a tasty 15/1 if he gets an early opener.

B Lucky!

Seeley’s Selections:
Spurs to win to nil @ 13/5
Spurs to win 2-0 @ 9/1
Eric Lamela First Goalscorer @ 15/2 (Double Bubble 15/1)
