Seeley’s Selections – Sunday’s Live Premier League Games

FOR the first time in a good few weeks we finally have a couple of very tasty Premier League football matches to enjoy on Super Sunday.

Newcastle United v Sunderland, 1:30pm, Sky Sports 1

The first game is the fiery North East derby clash between Newcastle and Sunderland at St James’ Park.

Before we look into the outcome of the match the first thing you think of when look at this fixture is whether both teams will end the match with 11 men on the pitch?
In the last four meeting at St James’ ,three players have seen red and if you look at games at the Stadium of light in the same period three have also seen red , so there is very good chance that we will see one again.

Now on to the football. If you asked me two weeks ago who wins this game, I would have had it down as a home banker, but now I have changed my mind totally.
Newcastle are the streakiest teams in the Premier League ,they seem to go on long winning runs, followed by similar losing ones at will.

They went on a six match winless run, followed by a six match winning run and and now they look like going on a similar losing run with two straight heavy defeats.
They were shocking against Arsenal at the Emirates last week losing 4-1 and they were worse against Tottenham in the Capital One Cup being hit for four again in another embarrassing 4-0 defeat.

Alan Pardew’s men are Boylesports 21/20 favourites to win this, but their injury-hit team is one to avoid. They have a massive goalkeeping crisis and Jak Alnwick isn’t the young man you want to rely on between the sticks in a derby match at short prices.

Sunderland have a great recent record in this fixture with just one loss in their last five matches. In their last two meetings they’ve both ended up in 3-0 away wins and the way Newcastle have defended in recent weeks the Boylesports offer of 40/1 on another one, that isn’t the worst bet of the world.

I like Sunderland to win here at Boylesports’ very tempting 3/1 but the only thing putting me off from having a serious wager on the Gus Poyet’s team is the number of games of which they draw.

They are the draw specialists in the Premier League with five stalemates from their last six games and a staggering 12 matches have already ended with honours even this season. The draw is available at 5/2 with Boylesports in this one, but I would much prefer to play on Sunderland in the draw no bet market at 17/10 with Boylesport which will get your stake refunded of the match ends in a draw and pay out on an away win.

My idea of a first goalscorer would be Sunderland’s Scottish striker Steven Fletcher at Boylesports 8/1 but in a game where goals could be hard to find I would keep stakes small.

Seeley’s Selections:
Sunderland Draw No Bet @ 17/10
Match Sending off @ 15/8
Steven Fletcher First Goalscorer @ 8/1

Liverpool v Arsenal, 4pm, Sky Sports 1

THE biggest game in the Premier League this weekend is the live Super Sunday 4pm kick-off between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield.

I have been Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool’s biggest critic this season and I don’t think for one minute that they are back on track after a 3-1 defeat against a reserve Bournemouth team in the Capital One Cup.

Boylesports however, they disagree with me, it won’t be the first or the last time though and they make Rodgers team 7/4 to win this… Why? They’ve only won twice at the once fortress Anfield in their last seven games and at that price they have to be ignored.

Saying that though, how can anybody back Arsenal here either at Boylesports 8/5 we all know the problems that Arsenal have when the face top teams (I wouldn’t exactly call this Liverpool team that) but the Gunners’ will always let you down in matches like this.

Arsene Wenger’s men will still have the 5-1 defeat from last season in their minds and although this is a totally different Liverpool they are facing on Sunday, I think this is a tough one to call the outcome of.

One thing I will guarantee you though is goals…and the only way we can get punting here are on the goals markets.

In 15 of the last 17 meetings between these two sides both teams have scored and even thought it’s a short price the 4/7 with Boylesports on that run to continue here is the best way for a wager in this one either in a single or the Boylesports weekend accumulator.

Liverpool have conceded in 22 of their 25 games this season and with Arsenal scoring in 24 of their 26 games this season we have to see goals and lots of them.
The last three Arsenal games have seen five goals scored in every match and this match to see more than 3.5 goals is another bet I like at Boyelsports 7/4 and why not back over 4.5 goals in the game as well at a juicy 19/4 with Boylesports.

In the last eight years this fixture has thrown up some really crazy score-lines 5-1 last season, 4-4, 4-1 and a 3-6 and I fully expect the big score-lines to continue in this one a 3-3 at Boylesports offer of 33/1 is worth a £1 as is another 4-4 at a monster 100/1 with Boylesports that will pay the next five Christmas’.

Last season Raheem Sterling tore the Arsenal defence to pieces with his pace and the Liverpool youngster should have had a hat-trick in last weeks defeat to Manchester United, he bounced back with a brace against Bournemouth and at 29/20 with Boylesports to score anytime against an Arsenal defence still missing Laurent Koscielny I like that.

Four different players have scored a brace in Arsenal’s last two games but Oliver Giroud looked impressive against Newcastle last week and the 17/10 with Boylesports on him to score at anytime in this one that would be my choice in a game that promises a hatful of goals.

On the DOUBLE BUBBLE offer you could make a case for anybody scoring the opener in this one but Sterling and Giroud would get my votes at 11/2 and 6/1 respectively and lets hope they need inside the opening 20 minutes to land the double odds bonus.

Seeley’s Selections:
Over 3.5 Goals @ 7/4
Raheem Sterling Anytime Goalscorer @ 29/20
Olivier Giroud Anytime Goalscorer @ 17/10

REMEMBER – Double Bubble – Boylesports will double the odds on any winning first goalscorer bet if your winning goalscorer nets inside the opening 20 minutes.

B Lucky
