Seeley’s Selections – Tuesday’s Live Champions League – Last 16

Man City v Barcelona

Match Betting

What a match it’s going to be at the Etihad on Tuesday night when Barcelona come to town to take on Manchester City in this Champions League last 16 clash.

Man City v Barcelona, Tuesday 7:45, Live on ITV & TV3
This match has not only the potential to be the game of the round but it really could be the match of the season and one to sit back and enjoy with a few punts on.
The visitors arrive here with a star-studded line-up and BoyleSports make them their 23/20 favourites, which does look very, very short in my opinion.

There is a lot to like about the Premier League champions here at the 23/10 and I genuinely thought this game would be a hard one for the layers to split.

Manuel Pellegrini, for the first time in while, has a full squad to choose from and his troops are peaking just at the right time;

…they smashed five past Newcastle at the weekend and that is now NINE goals they have scored in their last two Premier League games and they look a team full of confidence at the moment.

Whilst Pellegrini was celebrating the Newcastle win, Luis Enrique had his worst result as manager of Barca at with a shock home defeat against Malaga and the timing might be right for getting with the hosts in this one. One thing you have to expect though is goals and a fair few of them.

City’s clean sheet against Newcastle was only their first in the last 11 matches and Barca’s defeat ended a winning run of 11 games where incredibly they had scored at least three goals in 10. It’s a pretty obvious play but both teams to score at BoyleSports’ 8/13 looks a mortgage job to me with so much attacking quality on both sides and both defences pretty average, goals look assured.

Over 2.5 goals in the game is another short-priced fancy at BoyleSports’ 3/4 but I would be more tempted by the over 3.5 which is on offer at a much tastier 15/8. City had a fantastic European night against Bayern Munich in the group stages winning 3-2 and another win by that scoreline is where I’m putting a cheeky couple of quid at BoyleSports’ 25/1. When looking at the goalscorer markets, you will see why I’m so confident of goals with the attacking talent on display spearheaded but the Barcelona trio of Neymar, Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi but I’m siding with City’s in-form playmaker David Silva at 11/1 with BoyleSports.

Silva netted a brace at the weekend and in a game where I can see lots of goals, I also like the 3/1 with BoyleSports on the Spanish international to score at anytime against his fellow countryman. Remember Double Bubble applies to all Champions League games involving English teams – Double odds if your First Goalscorer selection score within the first twenty minutes!

Seeley’s Selections:
Both Teams To Score – Yes @ 8/13
Over 3.5 Goals @ 15/8
Correct Score: Man City 3-2 @ 25/1
David Silva First Goalscorer @ 11/1 (22/1 Double Bubble)

Juventus v Borussia Dortmund, Tuesday 7:45, Live on Sky Sports 1
The other Champions League last 16 clash on Tuesday is in Turin where Juventus host Borussia Dortmund. The Italians are 21/20 with BoyleSports to win this one and it’s very hard to make a case against them.

Juve haven’t lost a game since the end of October and they are running away with Serie A and in Europe it’s a similar story where they have just one loss in their last 15 matches and at odds-against they look a decent shout.

Seeley’s Selection:
Juventus To Win @ 21/20

B Lucky!
