Seeley’s Selections – Wednesday Champions League Games

There are no English clubs left in Europe, but don’t give up on it just yet as the big game of the Champions League is on Wednesday tonight with the clash between Paris St Germain and Barcelona at the Parc des Princes.

This is going to be a bit special and it has all the potential to be one of the best games of the tournament so far, with two attack minded sides going at it in the French capital.

After a shaky start to the season for both teams, they arrive in this one in fine form, sitting at the top of their domestic divisions and with both sides scoring goals for fun.

The two met at the group stage earlier in the tournament with PSG winning their home clash 3-2 and everything points to another classic.

The home side will be missing their suspended talisman Zlatan Ibrahimovic after the Swedish international was sent off in the last round against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, but I really think they can manage without him.

Confidence is high in Paris and despite Zaltan’s omission the 19/5 with BoyleSports on the home side just looks too big.

PSG are unbeaten in their last 24 home matches and with a victory over their opponents already this season there is nothing that suggests to me that they should be this price.

If you can’t oppose Barca and still are looking for a bet then the goals markets have to interest all the neutral punters.

Laurent Blanc’s side have scored at least two goals in their last eight matches; banging in a total of 24 of the beauties.

In those eight games, they’ve conceded in six of them against a lot less calibre of opponents than they face on Wednesday.

It’s also impossible to see Barca failing to score, doing so in their last 11 away matches and both teams to score at 3/4 with BoyleSports and over 2.5 goals in the game at 5/6 both look worthy of an investment.

Barca, can’t be touched for me at the 4/5 with BoyleSports for them to win the match, but I know you won’t be able to help yourself and at a massive 33/1 with BoyleSports I’m going to have a little play on another 3-2 home win.

There is so much attacking flair in the first goalscorer betting market that it really is very hard to pinpoint just one to open the scoring; if pushed I’m going to take the 8/1 on Edinson Cavani with BoyleSports as the Uruguayan arrives here full of confidence after a weekend brace.

Seeley’s Selections:
Both Teams To Score – Yes @ 3/4
Over 2.5 Goals @ 5/6
PSG To Win @ 19/5
Edinson Cavani 1st Goalscorer @ 8/1
Correct Score – PSG 3-2 @ 33/1

Porto v Bayern Munich

In the nights other quarter-final BoyleSports 15/8 Champions League favourites Bayern Munich make a tough trip to Portugal to take on Porto.

This is anything from an easy trip for Munich and at the prices, I’ve really got to take on the Germans at the 5/6 chalked up by the BoyleSports odds-makers.

The home side are all 19/5 for the win, which I couldn’t get stuck into either, but I would back the draw at 11/4 with BoyleSports.

Munich showed their knock-out game plan in the last round when they were held to a 0-0 draw with Shakhtar Donetsk, only to smash them 7-0 at the Allianz and that is what I’m expecting in this first leg – it’s gonna be tight.

I really believe this will be a very close affair and the best way to bet on it is to take BoyleSports 3/4 on the match featuring less than 2.5 goals.

Porto are unbeaten at the Estadio do Dragao in this year’s competition and have only conceded just two goals with just one in the first half in all their 10 Champions League games – the match to be drawing at half-time is another bet I’m keen of at 23/20.

I fancy the Germans to prevail, but I don’t expect them to go to Portugal with all guns blazing and no goalscorer in the game again at a massive 8/1 with BoyleSports looks the way for me.

Some times in betting it pays to swim against the tide and that looks the way to profit in this one.

Seeley’s Selections
Under 2.5 Goals @ 3/4
Half-Time Result – Draw @ 23/20
No Goalscorer @ 8/1
