Seeley’s Selections – Wednesday’s Champions League Games

The one thing I can’t see many of in Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final second legs are goals and it could pay to play on the unders and both teams not to score markets on the match coupons with BoyleSports this midweek.

Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid, 7:45pm, Sky Sports 1 & RTE 2

The first game of the evening promises a lot, but I don’t think it will deliver when Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid do battle at the Bernebau.

I think we could be counting cards and players at the end of the game – with a staggering 58 cards shown in the seven meetings – rather than goals and action.

In those seven meeting this season Real are amazingly yet to have a single success, but this could be the night for their revenge in the biggest meeting of the lot.

They were much the better team in the first leg at the Vincent Calderon and deservedly come back to the Bernebau with a goalless draw and I really fancy them to get the vital win on Wednesday at BoyleSports stand-out 20/23.

Carlo Ancelotti is a man under pressure…..pressure?

This Real Madrid side in the quarter-finals of Champions League and are sitting in runners-up in La Liga, but he has to win at least one of those trophies to see his tenure extended for another season… and we feel sorry for Big Sam Allardyce.

Despite what the locals consider a poor season, they’ve won 17 of their 20 home matches and I think they did the real hard work in last week’s draw.

The best bet in this clash is without question the game to see less than 2.5 goals which is 4/5 with BoyleSports. Almost every Champions League game featuring Atletico Madrid have featured less than three goals and there is no reason to see why it won’t continue in this one.

This could be a good time to face Diego Simeone’s side as sandwiched between last week’s draw they were held by Malaga and struggled past Deportivo at the weekend.

I’m going to take the home side just to edge this 1-0 at 6/1 with BoyleSports and if they are to squeeze past they are going to have to do so without Gareth Bale who is injured for this match.

In the absence of Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo will be one man who will be pleased as he will be the main portugeezer and will have free range from every set-piece and even at the 5/2 with BoyleSports to open the scoring he looks to be the best bet in his pursuit to be the top goalscorer in the competition again.

Seeley’s Selections:
Under 2.5 Goals @ 4/5
Real Madrid To Win 1-0 @ 6/1
Cristiano Ronaldo First Goalscorer @ 5/2

Monaco v Juventus, 7:45pm, Sky Sports 5, Setanta Sports

Another game which I’m fully expecting to be a tight one is the night’s other quarter-final second leg between Monaco and Juventus in the principality.

Juve, hold a slender 1-0 advantage and for Monaco to make it through to the last four they have to do something which they don’t do often, attack and score goals.

Apart from a freak game at the Emirates against Arsenal, unders backers in Monaco games will be watching this one either from the principality or in the Carribbean and they should spin the winners up again on Wednesday.

I’m all over under 2.5 goals in the game, even if it’s short at the 11/20 with BoyleSports, but it’s impossible to make a case for anything else.

In the last 31 Monaco games only FIVE have featured more than two goals and in a game where it’s certain to be tight, under 1.5 goals at 13/8 with BoyleSports looks tempting.

Juventus are the best in the business in holding a lead and I can’t see the home side breaking them down. I can see them punishing the home side late on with a goal on the counter-attack and I like the Italians at 13/10 to win this with Boylesports.

Monaco are 5/2 with BoyleSports to get the win they need and I just can’t see them threatening a Juve side that have only lost just once in their last 14 away matches.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side have already wrapped up Serie A and now they can concentrate on the big one. I like them to win this 1-0 again at the 11/2 with BoyleSports.

Allegri has an excellent record in charge of “The Old Lady” with just five losses in his 45 games in charge and at 8/1 with BoyleSports to win the Champions League that really interests me.

Nobody will fancy playing the Italian champs and in a one-off final, I’m very confident that they will have a gameplan that can frustrate the best in the business.

I also really like the “Old Lady” to win to nil on Wednesday night at 5/2 with BoyleSports and I think her sister the “Fat Lady” can start singing now in this one.

Carlos Tevez has had a sensational season scoring 28 goals, which is unheard of for strikers in Serie A and he hasn’t been given the respect he deserves to open the scoring on Wednesday with quotes of 5/1 with BoyleSports.

The former Man Utd and Man City striker has scored 10 in his last 15 starts, including the opener at the weekend against Lazio, so make the BoyleSports odds-compilers pay by getting stuck into the Argentinian at these prices.

Seeley’s Selections:
Under 1.5 Goals @ 13/8
Juventus To Win To Nil @ 5/2
Correct Score Juventus 1-0 @ 8/1
Carlos Tevez First Goalscorer @ 5/1

B Lucky.
