Sinn Féin Gambled Into Favourites To Win Next General Election

Fine Gael and Sinn Fein have seen their approval ratings soar according to the latest opinion poll.

The Behaviour & Attitudes opinion poll published in today’s Sunday Times shows that support for Sinn Féin is up by five percentage points since the general election, while support for Fine Gael is up by eight points since the February vote.

This has resulted in Sinn Fein shooting back into the lead as the 11/10 favourites with BoyleSports, tumbling from 5/4 while Fine Gael are 6/5 second favourites having shared favouritism with Sinn Fein at 5/4.

The Behaviour & Attitudes survey showed that Leo Varadkar’s approval rating has also skyrocketed by 28 per cent following the party’s second-worst election result since 1948 and he remains the 11/10 favourite to become the Taoiseach after the next general election.

Mary Lou McDonald is the 2/1 second favourite, trimmed from 5/2.
