Sinn Féin Joint Favourites To Win Most Seats In Next General Election

Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and the Green Party have agreed to enter government together following a ballot of their members on Friday, but punters are already turning towards Sinn Féin to win the most seats in the next election.

Sinn Féin won the highest popular vote in the General Election back in February scooping up 37 seats but are not part of the new government. However, we saw plenty of support for Mary Lou McDonald and her party to win the most seats in the next election with those tumbling into 6/5 from 6/4.

This now puts Sinn Féin as joint favourites alongside Fine Gael while Fianna Fáil remain 9/2.

Eamon Ryan has said the Green Party’s leadership contest will take place online in the next month now that a government has been formed. Deputy leader Catherine Martin announced that she would challenge Mr Ryan for the leadership last month, but her odds have now drifted out to 5/2 from 13/8 while Ryan is the 2/7 favourite from 4/9.
