Strong Support For Leo Varadkar To Remain As Taoiseach

Leo Varadkar has emerged as the most popular Taoiseach since Bertie Ahern following the first Irish Times/Ipsos MRBI poll of 2018.

As a result of the poll,

we have had to slash the leader of Fine Gael to firm 4/9 favourite from 10/11 to remain at his post as Taoiseach

…after the next General Election.

Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin is the 7/4 second favourite to take over from Varadkar after the next General Election after shortening in from 10/3.

The move comes after a surge of bets on Martin, following his decision to declare he was in favour of repealing the eighth amendment despite his party holding an anti-abortion stance.
