Support For Dundalk Ahead Of Molde Europa League Fixture

Local support is gathering behind Dundalk as they prepare to kick off their Europa League campaign proper on Thursday evening against Norwegian champions Molde.

The Lilywhites warmed up for their first group match with a 2-1 victory over Derry City at the Brandywell on Monday.

The Town have shortened slightly into 9/2 from 5/1 with on the eve of kick-off to bag all three points.

Sean Murray, who bagged the opener in the victory over Derry City, is proving popular as a 16/1 shot to open the scoring again on Thursday having registered two goals and an assist in Dundalk’s Europa League qualifying matches.

Filippo Giovagnoli’s side are the rank 25/1 outsiders in Group B with Thursday’s opponents also outside 14/1 shots, while Arsenal are hot 1/9 favourites to top the group.

Dundalk are also grouped with the outright favourites to win the competition as the Gunners are joint 7/1 front runners alongside their North London neighbours Tottenham.
