Support For Irish General Election In 2016

Support this morning has come in for a General Election to take place in Ireland in 2016 or later.

A flurry of bets has come in for it to happen in 2016 or later with one punter staking €2,000 at 5/6 in a Dublin City centre shop on Wednesday morning.

As a result of the demand, the odds have shortened into 8/11 from 5/6 with the odds of a General Election taking place before the end of 2015 eased out to Evens from 5/6 as a result.

With the Dáil currently adjourned until September 22nd, it is highly unlikely that we will see a General Election take place in 2015.
