Tiger Roll Headlines Irish Cheer At Cheltenham

Irish Punters had a day to remember on the second instalment of Cheltenham Festival action this week after the travelling contingent of horses dominated the St. Patrick’s Day card with six victories from seven.

Just like on the opening day, favourite backers got off to a flying start on Wednesday after Bob Olinger and Monkfish both justified tumbling odds, but the Henry De Bromhead-trained Put The Kettle On helped bookmakers swerve a damaging treble by beating 8/13 favourite Chacun Pour Soi to victory in the Champion Chase.

A sparkling return to form in the Cross Country Chase for BoyleSports Irish Grand National entry Tiger Roll stole the headlines

…before Sir Gerhard got the better of Kilcruit in a well-supported Willie Mullins one-two in the Champion Bumper.

With bankers Bob Olinger and Monkfish obliging on St. Patrick’s Day it was a case of us running for cover again with some huge multiples running on to Chacun Pour Soi. We dodged a bullet there, but needless to say Tiger Roll’s return to form went down well with the punters so it’s up in the air whether we’ll finish ahead come Friday evening.

Bet on Day 3 here.
