Tony Holohan Odds Plummet To Replace Michael D Higgins As Irish President

Some Irish punters have started to get behind the idea of Tony Holohan running for President of the country.

Holohan was backed last year to land the big job but further support on New Year’s Day has meant his odds have plummeted even further.

The Chief Medical Officer hosts Government briefings every night of the week on the Covid-19 pandemic and is now 16/1 from 28/1 to replace Michael D. Higgins and take his place in Áras an Uachtaráin in 2025 when Higgins’ second term is scheduled to come to an end.

Those odds were as big as 50/1 and if the support continues, we will see those odds tumble even further.

We have seen steady support for Tony Holohan ever since the pandemic hit but this is the lowest price he has ever been at.

Former Fianna Fáil leader Bertie Ahern was fancied to move to the Phoenix Park back in the summer as his odds were as low as 10/1 but those chances were eased out to 40/1.

The well-known figure is on the move again however and is now 20/1 from 40/1 with BoyleSports following support earlier this week.
