Trent Alexander-Arnold An Easy Target Says Former Liverpool Right-Back

But on Tuesday night, he once again showed why he’s one of the best attacking full-backs in the world with a stunning goal against Rangers in the Champions League.

LIVERPOOL’S FLUCTUATING FORM THIS SEASON
They’ve set the bar so high the last couple of years, were close to winning everything last year and slipped at the last moment.
To perform at that level for that long takes a lot out of you. It’s a bit of a hangover from the last 18 months, it’s hard to pick yourself up and get back to that level.
They need to pick themselves up soon, otherwise, they won’t be anywhere near that level.
KLOPP’S TOUGHEST SPELL AT ANFIELD?
Yes definitely. At the beginning, he was given time to build his team, in recent years they’ve been in finals left, right and centre, winning trophies.
This is the biggest doubt they’ve had, it’s certainly his toughest period, but Klopp is a top manager and has a good squad.
Once everyone is fit and the players get that fire back in their bellies, they need to start winning games very quickly.
WHAT IS MISSING FROM LIVERPOOL’S TEAM?
Of course, there are players that can strengthen the Liverpool side, they need a midfielder or two to get the energy and legs back in there.
The players are more capable, Liverpool just need a bigger squad in general because they’re going to a lot of finals, which is a lot of games, and for that, you need a lot of fresh legs.
Obviously, Jude Bellingham is the one, whether that is realistic or not, nobody knows. Outside of that, they need another top two midfielders.
Trent is still struggling for confidence, he’s put in some solid performances. He’s one of those who come under a huge amount of criticism which is not just, to be honest.
He’s not been himself, but he’s set the bar so high it’s impossible to maintain. The performances have been okay, but not as good as what he’s capable of.
Everyone always looks to blame people and it’s not always someone’s fault. There are loads of Liverpool players who are not performing to their standards at the moment. Alexander-Arnold has set the bar so high, I just think he’s an easy target.
FACING LEAGUE LEADERS ARSENAL THIS WEEKEND
It will certainly be the first time Arsenal have a massive chance. Arsenal have been playing out of their skin while Liverpool haven’t been, and that’s not been the case for many years.
It’s going to be a really tough game for Liverpool and they’re going to have to be at it to get a result.
It’s more of a battle for top four, but certainly, if Liverpool lose, they’re getting further and further away from the title every week.
