Trump Closing Gap On Biden

Donald Trump may remain behind in the polls but his chances of a second four years in the White House are marginally improving according to the latest betting.

The Republican Convention got under way on Monday with Trump formally nominated for the election set to take place in early November.

His prospects of re-election seem to be strengthening after BoyleSports eased Joe Biden to 8/11 from 8/13 to end Trump’s reign. The Democratic candidate remains the favourite, but his lead is getting smaller as Trump was backed into 11/10 from 7/4 over the space of the past week.

The Republicans have also closed into 3/1 from 5/1 to win the popular vote, something they failed to do in 2016 despite denying Hillary Clinton in the race for White House.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “It had been one way traffic in favour of Biden until the last week but Donald Trump is starting to regain a bit of support. He’s closed into 11/10 from 6/4 so it appears punters believe he may be down but certainly not out.”
