US Open 2023 Betting Favourites

Carlos Alcaraz – 11/8

Favourite for the 2023 US Open is Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz who has been clipped into 11/8 from 6/4 to retain his 2022 US Open success.

World Number (1) Carlos Alcaraz has an excellent record at the US Open despite being only 20, his first appearance came in 2021 when he reached the Quarter-Final and in 2022 he went two steps further winning the event making him the reigning champion. His 11 wins and 1 defeat is good enough for a Win-Rate of 92%.

There was a lot of discussion on where tennis would go in the absence of Federer and the impending retirement of Nadal, but the sport has found its newest superstar, Alcaraz may only be (20) but since turning pro in February 2020 at (16) he has already built up a reputation as a force on the tennis tour with a Career Record of 139–36 (79.4%) and 12 Career Titles.

Victory at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center at the end of August and the start of September would see his impressive short career continue.

We have previewed his chance here!

Novak Djokovic –  15/8

Second favourite for the 2023 US Open is “The Joker” Novak Djokovic despite turning pro twenty years ago in 2003, is still at the top of the tennis game at (36).

World Number (2) Novak has won this competition three times in 2011 he beat Rafael Nadal, in 2015 he defeated Roger Federer and most recently he won the 2018 US Open against Juan Martín del Potro in straight sets 6–3, 7–6(7–4), 6–3.  He did not partake in the 2022 US Open following a failure to meet vaccination requirements at the time.

Novak is widely considered not only one of the greatest tennis players of his generation but by extension one of the greatest tennis players of all time. He stands alone at the top of the Grand Slam Tennis table with 23 titles to his name one more than Rafael Nadal and three more than Roger Federer.

Victory at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center at the end of August and the start of September would see him go further clear at the top of the tennis  Grand Slam table.

Daniil Medvedev – 6/1

After Djokovic and Alcaraz there is a significant drop off in the betting to where we find Daniil Medvedev at odds of  6/1, but he does have Grand Slam winning pedigree winning this event in 2021.

The World Number (3) will be a player to watch at this year’s US Open, having won this event in 2021 beating Novak Djokovic who was vying for a Grand Slam at the time in shocking straight sets victory. At the event last year, he was knocked out in the Fourth Round by Nick Kyrgios.

Daniil (27) is part of the new tennis generation boosting a tennis record of 315–128 (71.1%) and 20 career titles already! He will be expected to add plenty more along with at least a few more majors before he finishes up his career.

Jannik Sinner – 8/1

Next in the betting is another one of the rising tennis stars Jannick Sinner (22) at 8/1 who despite not winning a Grand Slam (yet) since turning pro in 2018 he boosts multiple Quarter-Final appearances (3) and one Semi appearance

The World Number (6) is at his highest point in the World Rankings and got to the Quarter-Final of the 2022 US Open, eventually losing out to eventual winner Carlos Alcaraz in a five-set thriller.

Jannick is another at the start of his career already with a record of 167–70 (70.5%) and 8 career titles. It will be interesting to see whether he can go further at the competition this year.
