Corach Rambler Odds For Aintree Repeat

Corach Rambler is set to carry 11st 2lbs as he bids to win back-to-back Aintree Grand Nationals for Derek Fox and Lucinda Russell after weights for the world’s most famous race were announced on Tuesday.

The dual Cheltenham Festival winner is a current 14/1 shot with BoyleSports as he bids to join an illustrious list of horses that have won the Aintree feature on more than one occasion, including Red Rum, Reynoldstown, and Tiger Roll.

Vanillier Now Grand National Favourite

With another strong Irish challenge expected when the tapes go up on April 13th, Vanillier who has been allotted 10st 8lbs is the current antepost favourite at 12/1 while John McConnell’s Mahler Mission (11st 1lbs) remains high on punter’s shortlists at odds of 14/1. Noble Yeats, who is bidding to regain his 2022 crown is rated a 16/1 shot after being allotted a weight of 11st 8lbs.

Hewick Given Top Weight For Grand National

The race has continued to attract a higher calibre horse in recent years with this season’s King George hero Hewick topping the weights carrying 11st 12lb. He is 28/1 with BoyleSports for the Shark Hanlon team, who will be dreaming of another fairytale success for the €850 purchase.

Speaking at the weights launch in Liverpool, Hanlon said:

“I intend to run him [Hewick] in the Grand National. Everyone is asking me today if he’ll run, I hope they’re talking to me after the race too!”

With just seven weeks to go until the crowds descend on the Liverpool track, Galvin has been an early mover after the weights were revealed and has been backed into 25/1 from 33/1 after being allotted 10st 12lbs as support surges for Gordon Elliott to have another Grand National winner.
