Victorious Villa Third Favourite For Premier League Relegation

The promotion hangovers may be kicking in at Villa Park but Aston Villa are already one of the top three favourites to drop out of the Premier League next season.

The midlands club won football’s richest game on Monday with a 2-1 play-off victory over Derby County at Wembley, a victory which will see them back playing top flight football after a three-year absence.

However, they are up against the early odds if they want to retain their Premier League status beyond next season,

and we have chalked them up at 7/4 to be sent straight back down to the Championship.

Their fellow promoted sides are the other two favourites for the drop next season, with Sheffield United odds-on relegation candidates at 4/6, while Championship winners Norwich City are 10/11 shots.

Burnley are the side of last season’s Premier League cohort in most danger at 15/8, while Brighton are being tipped to face a relegation battle at 2/1 having dispensed with the services of Chris Hughton in favour of former Swansea boss Graham Potter.
