Voix Du Reve Can Boost Mullins Title Bid

Even with 10 runners at Sandown on Saturday Willie Mullins has a big task to overhaul Paul Nicholls and be champion trainer in Britain for the first time.

But he looks to have a great chance of picking up at least two winners on the card.

Good Start
In the opening juvenile hurdle (2.20 Sandown) there is £31,280 to the winner and that will go down very well in the Mullins coffers if Voix Du Reve can put his final flight fall in the Fred Winter behind him by claiming some compensation here.

Both Voix Du Reve and Gordon Elliott’s Campeador looked to be travelling strongly coming down to the last hurdle in the Fred Winter last month.

But they both took crashing falls to leave the Nicholls trained Diego Du Charmil to pick up the pieces.

It was a fair step up in form for the Mullins raider but the better ground might have been the key and a strongly run race and he looks set to get both again here at Sandown.

A negative is that he has to concede weight all around and Nicholls runs Tommy Silver, who was seventh in the Triumph Hurdle, and it certainly looks a match between the two of these but at 9/4, Voix Du Reve is given the nod to oblige.
