Walsh’s Any Second Now To Complete Hat-Trick

Naas is sometimes regarded as a punters’ graveyard but the track can often attract a lot of quality and there’s a decent card on offer there on Sunday with a couple of favourites who are very hard to take on.

Any Second To Make It Three Now
On official ratings the Noel Meade-trained Joey Sasa is rated just 3lbs behind the unbeaten Any Second Now but is in receipt of 5lbs from Ted Walsh’s five-year-old in the feature race at Naas on Sunday…

but it is still Any Second Now who is expected to continue his winning ways.

We had a short priced JP McManus winner last week in Sutton Manor and he looks to be a horse to follow for the future and Any Second Now most definitely has a similar profile. A shock 66/1 winner first time out, he proved that was no fluke when winning the Moscow Flyer Hurdle at Punchestown and he can make it an impressive hat-trick with Naas likely to suit him better.

Unfortunately judging by the ITV Racing pictures yesterday Barry Geraghty looks unlikely to take the ride but Mark Walsh taking over won’t be a negative as he gave the horse a fantastic ride to win last time.

Labaik is the unknown quantity of the race and could follow the selection home…if he decides he wants to. A frustrating horse who only races when he wants, the fear with him is whether or not he’ll jump off with them.

Boy Can Win Again

Velocity Boy is picked to win the novice handicap chase at 3.20 for Willie Murphy and Barry Cash.

The talented eight-year-old was a facile winner at Punchestown last time and on that occasion he made all the running to record a 12-length win.

On his penultimate start, Velocity Boy was a faller in Naas but on that occasion they opted to drop him in off the pace and although that didn’t look to suit him, he was still getting into contention when crashing out and he may not hold much from the handicapper but can oblige with a lovely racing weight of 10st13lbs on his back.

Recommended Bets:
Velocity Boy – 3.20 Naas
Any Second Now – 3.50 Naas
