Odds of 5/2 with BoyleSports suggest Wayne Rooney will shun the lure of law to join a League One or League Two side after he was sacked by Birmingham City on Tuesday. 

Rooney claims to have considered a law degree following the ‘Wagatha Christie’ trial involving his wife Coleen, but at 100/1, him becoming a full time lawyer is rated the same price as his next managerial job coming in the Premier League following an ill-fated stint in the dugout at St Andrew’s.

Rooney’s Birmingham Tenure

The Blues were firmly in the picture for a play-off spot as they sat sixth in the Championship table when Rooney took charge in October, but nine defeats in 15 games since mean they have sunk to 20th, just six points clear of the relegation zone.

What Next For Wayne Rooney?

Now punters are expecting Rooney to slip down in the leagues in his search for new employment after previous spells in charge of Derby County in the Championship and MLS side DC United. A return to America is also rated a likely option for the former Manchester United captain at 4/1 to take charge of an MLS side next. It’s an 8/1 shot that Rooney follows in the footsteps of Steven Gerrard by taking a job in the Saudi Pro League.
