Wenger Favourite To Replace Zidane At The Bernabeu

Next Permanent Real Madrid Manager

Outright Betting

Arsene Wenger is the early frontrunner to be the next Real Madrid manager following Zinedine Zidane’s shock exit from the club on Thursday.

We had opened their market with Antonio Conte as 7/2 favourite but the early betting has forced a change and it’s the ex-Arsenal boss who is seeing the majority of early money for the post.

He was cut from 7/1 to 7/4 within minutes after a burst of support in the aftermath of Zidane’s announcement.

Conte is now out to 5/1, with Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino at 10/3. That makes the Argentine, who signed a new five-year contract with the North Londoners only a week ago, the second favourite to take over at the European Champions, with Guti fourth in the running at 11/2.

The former Madrid midfielder has been involved in the youth set-up at Los Blancos and has expressed a desire to one day manage the first team.

Bigger priced candidates include former Barcelona defender Laurent Blanc and Carlo Ancelotti at 25/1 as well as out-of-work Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho at 33/1 to make an unlikely return to the Bernabeu.
