Ryan Mason Odds Drop But Nagelsmann Still Favoured For Tottenham Job

Ryan Mason has been backed to earn himself a permanent appointment at Tottenham Hotspur, after it was confirmed his temporary tenure will last until the end of the season.

The club parted company with Jose Mourinho just days before their participation in the League Cup Final and it was confirmed on Tuesday that the former midfielder will stay in charge on an interim basis until the end of the current campaign.

BoyleSports went 20/1 about him getting the job when we opened the betting, but he’s been well backed into 8/1 now that he’s been given an opportunity to impress.

The lack of an instant permanent replacement has now triggered a gamble on Mason being appointed as Mourinho’s successor on a more enduring basis this summer as his odds were slashed into 8/1 from 20/1 on Tuesday.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, however, is still being expected to make a move for Julian Nagelsmann, the RB Leipzig manager who oversaw a 4-0 aggregate victory over the north London club in the knockout stages of last season’s Champions League.

He remains a 9/4 frontrunner for the job, but has been joined on the same price by Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers who has shortened into 10/3 in the space of 24 hours.
