Wildcat Back Into Favourite For English Greyhound Derby

The second round of the English Greyhound Derby saw the elimination of Graham Holland’s Wolfe but defending champion, Dorotas Wildcat, is now 6/1 from 8/1 following an impressive victory at Nottingham last Saturday and is back into favourite having lost out to Wolfe in the first round.

Skywalker Logan can progress into the quarter-finals next week with his reasonably easy heat this Friday. He races from trap four but having broken the track record in the first-round, this flying machine should qualify and will find Liberty Hawk and Swift Jim his dangers. Logan remains the 8/1 second favourite following his second-round success.

Magical Bale made light work of his rivals in the second-round, including the 2018 BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby champion Ballyanne Sim, who he was runner-up to. Magical Bale’s odds have closed into 10/1 from 14/1 while

Ballyanne Sim remains our biggest liability in the market at 25/1.

Braveheart Bobby had been a 20/1 chance for the English Greyhound Derby after he won the Scottish Greyhound Derby last month and won his second-round heat in classy fashion. However, he has unfortunately picked up a shoulder muscle injury and is a non-runner for trainer Pat Buckley who still has Droopys Davy (20/1) and 33/1 chance Paganini Show.

Queen Beyonce is still the favourite in the Top Bitch market at Even money from 15/8, with Ballymac Tas in second place at 5/2 followed by Antigua Sands at 5/1.

The top Irish trained greyhound Skywalker Logan has some company at the top of the market at 7/2 with Clonbrien Prince a mover to join him at 7/2 from 8/1.
