Twilight Payment

Twilight In The Zone At Naas

Mount Everest is odds on favourite to land another Beresford Stakes for Aidan O’Brien at Naas and cap a good weekend for the family but the card throws up some other interesting bets.

Twilight To Provide Payment
Dermot Weld’s Falcon Eight is two from two and steps up in class and distance to contest the Loughbrown Stakes. There’s probably little doubt that the Moyglare-owned brother to Free Eagle will turn out to be the highest rated of these but a lack of experience against some more experienced rivals might tell on Sunday.

Falcon Eight could be an exciting Cup horse for next year but on this occasion the 11/4 shot Twilight Payment may hold the key.

Jim Bolger’s charge has been keeping good company this season and has ran well against the best stayers around at the moment. Twilight Payment does have to concede weight here but is picked to defy the 10lbs swing with Falcon Eight on the basis that the more seasoned campaigner…

can take the three-year-old out of his comfort zone over this sort of trip.

Course And Distance Winner Worth Following
Given the competitive nature of the Joe McGrath I probably did think that Blairmayne might slip under the radar a bit but BoyleSports were on the ball and installed the course and distance winner at just 5/1 last night.

Natalia Lupini’s charge has been a model of consistency this season since winning at Naas earlier in the year and each of his five runs since that Naas win have been creditable efforts.

Those five runs were also over a furlong further and at the Curragh so dropping back down to the minimum trip here is expected to yield success for the Italian born trainer.

Blairmayne is 9lbs higher than when winning back in May but his runs of late suggest that…

he’s up to winning off 81 and Shane Foley knows him well having won on him.

Recommended Bets:
Twilight Payment (11/4) – 2.55 Naas
Blairmayne (6/1) – 4.35 Naas
