BoyleSports started to see support for the Irish author shortly after the betting was introduced with Keegan now 5/1 from 10/1 to win the 2022 Booker Prize.
Alan Garner is shortlisted with Treacle Walker and is the 11/4 favourite. The British author is the oldest writer to be shortlisted for the Booker Prize with former lawyer turned author Elizabeth Strout next in the betting at 10/3 for her entry Oh William!
Sarah Kinsella, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “Irish author Claire Keegan is coming in for support to win the 2022 Booker Prize with Small Things Like These.
“We chalked Keegan up at 10/1 but she has been trimmed into 5/1 so she is in with a chance. Alan Garner is the 11/4 favourite with Treacle Walker but Keegan is gaining on the leaders and the only one we have seen support for so far.”
