Strictly Come Dancing Betting Favourites

Ellie Leach

Ellie Leach is the betting favourite to win 2023 Strictly Come Dancing at odds of 4/6. Those odds imply that Ellie Leach has a 60% chance of winning this year’s show.

Ellie is best known for her portrayal of Faye Windass in the popular ITV soap opera Coronation Street. She appeared in the show from 2011 to 2023 and as her character Faye hasn’t been killed off the door is still open for a return in the future while she explores new opportunities in the present.

The actress has been impressing on the dancefloor in this season of Strictly with her most recent performance being her best yet. Faye performed an American Smooth dance with partner Vito Coppola that wowed judges and earned the pair an almost perfect score of 39 out of 40.

Ellie and Vito have also caught the public’s attention with a rumoured romance off of the dance floor. Right now this is the pair to beat and if they can maintain their current level of performance it is hard to see who could top the Glitterball Trophy.

Bobby Brazier

Bobby Brazier is a co-second favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing at odds of 4/1. Those odds imply that Brazier has a 20% chance of winning this season’s edition of Strictly Come Dancing.

Bobby Brazier is a 20-year-old English Actor and Model from Harlow in Essex. He is probably best known for his role as Freddie Slater in the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders. He is also well known for being the son of Jade Goody who was a TV personality in the 2000s that sadly died at the age of just 27 due to cervical cancer.

Like favourites Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola, Bobby and his dance partner Dianne Buswell have been speculated to have a relationship that goes beyond just their Strictly dance partnership. Buswell, 34, responded to the speculation of a romance on Good Morning Britain by saying “We obviously did the dance the correct way if that’s what’s being said, because that is the Argentine Tango.”

Bobby and Dianne were awarded a score of 30 for their performance of the Argentine Tango in week 7 of the show. They will need to improve on that score if they are to beat favourites Ellie and Vito but the potential with this duo is definitely there.

Nigel Harman

The other co-second favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing this season is Nigel Harman who has also been given odds of 4/1. Those odds imply that Nigel Harman has a 20% chance of winning Strictly Come Dancing 2023.

Nigel Harman is a 50-year-old Actor from Surrey, England. He is best known for appearing in popular British shows like EastEnders, Downton Abbey, and Casualty. He is paired up with Katya Jones.

The pair have shown progressive form in recent weeks with scores of 29 in week 5, 30 in week 6 (Halloween week) and 33 in week 7 for their performance of the Tango.

If Nigel and Katya can continue to improve like they have in recent weeks they will be a serious threat to challenge for this year’s Glitterball Trophy.

Layton Williams

Next up in the betting to be crowned this year’s Strictly Come Dancing winner is Layton Williams at odds of 9/1. Those odds suggest that Layton Williams has a 10% chance of winning this season of Strictly Come Dancing.

Layton Williams is a 29-year-old Actor and Singer from Bury in Greater Manchester, England. He is best known for his portrayal of Stephen Carmichael in Bad Education.

Layton is paired up with Nikita Kuzmin. The pair have lit it up on the scoreboard this season with an average score of a little over 34 and almost securing a perfect score in week 5 when they were awarded 39 points by the judges.

Those strong performances have held over the last two weeks with scores of 36 in week 6 (Halloween week) for their Tango and 36 again in week 7 for their Jive.

In my opinion, Layton Williams currently represents the best value in the Strictly Come Dancing winner betting market at odds of 10/1.

Angela Scanlon

Further out in the betting to win Strictly Come Dancing 2023 is Angela Scanlon at odds of 14/1. Those odds imply that Angela Scanlon has a 6.7% chance of winning this year’s show.

Angela Scanlon is a 39-year-old TV presenter from Co. Meath in the Republic of Ireland. She is best known for presenting the popular The One Show on BBC One.

Scanlon is paired up with Carlos Gu. Scanlon was one of the early favourites to win the show but has since drifted out in the betting odds after mixed performances on the dance floor.

Angela and Carlos have potential as they’ve shown in week 3 (Movies week) with a score of 35 and week 6 (Halloween week) with a score of 33. However, they have also recorded some poor performances of late in the eyes of the judges with a 28 in week 5 and 27 in week 7 which was the joint lowest score of the week after their performance of the Samba.

The dancing ability is there but if Angela and Carlos want to challenge for the Glitterball Trophy they will need to improve their week-to-week consistency on the dance floor.
