This is an incredibly tight tie, and this is reflected in the betting market. AC Milan can currently be gotten at 2/1.

AC Milan were drawn in a group which included Chelsea, Red Bull Salzburg and Dynamo Zagreb where they had three wins, one draw and two defeats scoring twelve goals and conceding seven. At the end of the group stages they finished with 10 points which was good enough for second, three points behind Chelsea.
In the Round of 16 they were given the assignment of taking on Tottenham. They did just enough to advance past the London club with a narrow first leg win at home 1-0 before drawing 0-0 away from home.

They were handed a favourable Round of 16 tie versus Porto who they overcame 1-0 on aggregate after winning the first leg at home 1-0 and completing the job with a 0-0 draw away from home in the second leg.
They were drawn against another Portuguese opponent in Benfica for the Quarterfinal. Inter would go on to win the first leg in Portugal 2-0 and secure their Semi-Final place with an entertaining 3-3 draw in the second leg.

Away from the Champions League, in the Serie A, they are currently fourth with 63 points after 34 matches played – wo points ahead of AC Milan in fifth. In the Coppa Italia, they are in the final and will face Fiorentina on the 24th of May.

AC Milan’s Attack
AC Milan has an average attack with no real stand-out player, the goals are spread out amongst the team well. In their 10 Champions League games, they have scored 14 goals giving them an average of 1.4 goals per game from nine different goal-scorers.
Veteran striker Oliver Giroud is their top-scorer in the competition with 5 goals and 2 assists in his 10 matches. However, Rafael Leão will be a huge loss from them in attack in the competition he has 1 goal and 5 assists but is unlikely to play in the first leg due to an abductor problem.
Expect AC Milan to have a balanced attack where they will look to play through balls down the middle but also to their wingers on the flanks.
Inter Milan’s Defence
Inter Milan have had a decent defence in the competition this season conceding ten goals across their ten matches an average of 1.0 goals per game but since the group stages where they played Bayern Munich and Barcelona, they have only conceded three goals which is 0.3 goals per game.

While Martinez is not the most prolific of strikers, he is a selfless forward whose link-up and hold-up play will be pivotal to the Inter attack.
AC Milan’s Defence
AC Milan’s defence has performed slightly better than Inter in this competition with their eight goals conceded an average of 0.8 goals per game they have also only conceded one goal since the group stages finished. When I say there is nothing between these sides, I mean there are fine margins between both sides in almost every metric.
With that being said and looking at both squads I think there is a little more class and talent in the Inter Milan group with the likes of Martinez and Barella. I think for that reason they will get a narrow victory but expect a close-fought fiery derby.
