Arsenal to win the Premier League title? Their odds have been cut!

Arsenal are coming in for increasing support for a Premier League title challenge after went top of the table with their third straight victory.

Champions Manchester City missed the chance to leapfrog the Gunners on goal difference as they needed two quickfire goals just after the hour mark to leave St. James’ Park with a point after a thrilling 3-3 draw with Newcastle.

That saw the chances of a third consecutive league title eased slightly to 2/5 from 1/3, but Mikel Arteta’s side are closing in on the favourites after maintaining their 100% start with an impressive 3-0 win away at Bournemouth on Saturday evening.

Premier League title odds

BoyleSports have now cut Arsenal into 10/1 from their pre-season price of 20/1 to be crowned champions for the first time since 2004, while Liverpool remain second favourites at 4/1 ahead of their Monday night trip to Old Trafford.

The betting makes bleak reading for Frank Lampard, who is now rated the most likely candidate for the first managerial sacking of the season after being backed down to 3/1 from 5/1 following Everton’s 1-1 draw at home to big-spending Nottingham Forest.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “It was all pointing to another Man City v Liverpool title race according to the pre-season betting, but Arsenal have clearly caught the eye because they are emerging as a big loser for us if they go on to land the title.

They have flown out of the traps and at 10/1 from 20/1, more and more are singling them out as serious title contenders.”
