Betting Suspended On Ed Sheeran To Play Croke Park
BoyleSports believe that Ed Sheeran may be secured to play Croke Park this year after a flurry of bets forced us to suspend betting on the singer performing in the stadium.
Initially installed at 5/4 on Monday, we’ve have been flooded with bets with the biggest being a five figure sum placed in a Dublin City centre shop on Tuesday morning. The savvy punter definitely hasn’t been Thinking Out Loud but clearly has some inside information that we don’t as we laid a four figure bet at 5/4 on Ed in one of our Dublin City centre shops on Tuesday morning, literally as soon as the shop’s doors opened.
The large bet initially resulted in Ed being cut into 2/5 to play Croke Park before a further stream of bets led to the suspension of the market.
At the time of the suspension, U2 had been eased out to 7/2 from 11/4, with Florence and The Machine also drifting out to 10/1 from 8/1. Bruce Springsteen was 7/1 with Garth Brooks priced at 20/1 to make up for last year’s fiasco.
But it was all one-way traffic in this market with punters getting behind Ed Sheeran. If the ginger singer is announced to play Croke Park, we at BoyleSports will be taking a major hit.
