Ralf Rangnick

Betting Suspended On Man Utd Interim Boss As German’s Price Plummets

Betting has been suspended on Manchester United appointing Ralf Rangnick as the club’s interim manager.

It has been reported that the German coach has agreed a six-month deal to take over at Old Trafford following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with a two-year consultancy role to start next summer when they appoint a permanent manager.

Punters are so convinced it’s a done deal that we had to suspend the betting after the German coach was hammered into 1/16 from 5/1, so it looks like a matter of time now.

Rangnick was quickly backed into 1/10 from 5/1 to take the role on Thursday afternoon, but further speculation led to his odds tumbling even further into 1/16, forcing BoyleSports to suspend the market immediately.

Michael Carrick had taken some support in the market after the 2-0 victory over Villarreal, as his chances of a more permanent appointment were clipped into 6/1 from 8/1 in the betting on Wednesday.

But with unrelenting support for Rangnick, Carrick was eased out to 16/1 before the market was suspended.
