BoyleSports Honour Irish Fan’s €500 Win For €50 Charity Bet
A social media campaign was launched by BoyleSports on Twitter during the 2016 Euro qualifiers back in November, to hunt down an Irish fan sporting Ray Houghton’s actual Italia ‘90 green shell tracksuit at Republic of Ireland’s 2nd leg playoff against Bosnia in the Aviva.
After tracking the fan down, Eddie (@irelandsocshirt on Twitter), who runs irelandsoccershirts.com, a not for profit museum dedicated to Republic of Ireland memorabilia, BoyleSports discovered he is an avid supporter of various charities as well as being a Republic of Ireland fanatic and gave him a €50 charity bet for a charity of his choice.
Eddie placed the charity bet on the Republic of Ireland to win Group E at 10/1, however despite failing to win the group, we decided to honour the bet as a goodwill gesture.
The chosen charity was the Irish Cancer Society, who has received an impressive donation of €500 thanks to this Irish fashionista’s effort.
