BoyleSports have agreed a deal with the PDC to sponsor the 2019 BoyleSports Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton’s Aldersley Leisure Village with the winner lifting the Eric Bristow trophy and £125,000 in prize money.

The event was established in 2007 with this year’s dates running from November 9th-17th and will be broadcast live every day on Sky Sports.

Phil Taylor has a total of six titles and won the first three stagings of this event that sees PDC and BDO players battle it out for the top honours.

Michael van Gerwen is the clear 11/10 favourite and will attempt to edge closer to that total as he bids to become the champion for the 4th time.

The Dutchman has been enjoying a purple patch lately as he scooped his fifth title at the BoyleSports World Grand Prix in brilliant fashion by defeating Dave Chisnall 5-2 in the final in Dublin last month.

Van Gerwen followed up his previous victories in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018 by retaining the title in the double-start tournament at the Citywest Convention Centre for the first time to continue his dominance of the event.

The world number one quickly followed up that success by winning the Champions League of Darts and the World Series of Darts Finals.

World Matchplay Champion Rob Cross is the 8/1 second favourite with Peter Wright, who was runner-up to van Gerwen in 2017, at 9/1.

Last year’s champion Gerwyn Price is 11/1 from 12/1 to win a second title. The Welsh player was beaten by van Gerwen in the World Series of Darts Finals last week after the Dutchman produced an incredible comeback from 4-2 down to defeat Price 6-5 in Amsterdam.

Scotland’s Gary Anderson has never won the BoyleSports Grand Slam of Darts having finished runner-up twice in 2011 and 2018. Anderson is 12/1 to lift the Eric Bristow trophy having been trimmed in from 14/1.
