Bran Is Still The Favourite But Melisandre’s Odds To Rule Shorten

Sunday night will see the final series of the most watched show of all time return to our screens with the hotly anticipated season 8 promising to be full of notoriously unpredictable scenes.

There has been a significant gamble on the ‘Red Woman’ Melisandre, with BoyleSports forced to reduce her price from 100/1 to 25/1 following some activity on Saturday.

The move up the betting puts her in tenth position behind 4/5 shot Bran Stark, who was backed into his short price from a massive 33/1 at the end of season 7.

Small movement has come for Petyr ‘Littlefinger’ Baelish who met a gruesome end when Ayra Stark slit his throat however the theory suggests that Littlefinger, played by Irish actor Aiden Gillen, used the Faceless Men to stand in his place to be killed while he fled to safety and plotted his takeover of Westeros.

Some fans have dismissed the theory, but others seem to have been convinced and were forced to cut his odds into 9/2 from 11/2 with 100/1 available at the end of series 7.

King of the North Jon Snow was also a popular 4/1 shot after the previous series concluded, but his odds are now in reverse as his drifts out to 5/1. He fought White Walkers and returned from death with the help of the ‘Red Woman’ but he doesn’t even know that he is next in line for the Iron Throne or the fact that Daenerys is his aunt.

Daenerys Targaryen has the highest chance of survival according to computer science students at the Technical University of Munich. They have developed an application that scours the internet for data on the popular Game of Thrones series and uses an algorithm to predict which characters are most likely to survive to the end of its final season. She remains 7/1 to take the Iron Throne
