The countdown to the Cheltenham Festival is well and truly on as the big event is now less than 3 weeks away.

Keith Melrose has been studying the form, entries and matchups for all the races at this year’s festival and has picked out a 7/2 bet for the Mares Chase that could prove shrewd come the final day of racing at Prestbury Park.

Cheltenham Tips – Allegorie De Vassy @ 7/2 To Win Mares Chase

This week’s best bet for the Cheltenham Festival is Allegorie De Vassy in the Mares Chase which is the 2nd last race on the Friday.

She was 2nd in that race last year behind the horse [Impervious] that followed up at Punchestown but hasn’t been seen since.

Allegorie De Vassy showed all her talent was still in tact and just as importantly suggested that her tendency to jump right has been curbed a little bit when she won at Naas last weekend.

She’s currently the 7/2 2nd favourite at BoyleSports behind Dinoblue (10/11) who might be her equal in ability but she’s never convinced over 2 and a half miles and Cheltenham really isn’t the place to mess around and find out when it comes to stamina.
