Davy Russell’s RTE Sports Personality Of The Year Odds Shorten

Punters have gone crazy for Davy Russell to be crowned the RTE Sports Personality of the year with BoyleSports reducing his odds from 16/1 into 10/1.

The two-time Aintree Grand National winning jockey teamed up with Gordon Elliott’s superstar last Saturday to create history when the brilliant Tiger Roll won back to back Aintree Grand Nationals.

It was a special occasion that had many people crying tears of joy as the feat that had not been reproduced in 45 years with Red Rum the last horse to complete back to back wins.

Davy Russell was nominated for this award last year, but it was Johnny Sexton who was crowned the winner after the Six Nations Grand Slam win along with being named the World Rugby Player of the Year.

Russell deserves to be nominated yet again with his down to earth and honest personality, not to mention his skill and superb attitude in the saddle.

He is the people’s favourite and a household name especially after creating history in Aintree with Tiger Roll and is also strongly associated with the Hurling for Cancer charity.

Money has arrived for Tiger Roll in our ante post market with news released earlier this week that the magnificent horse is to make an appearance on The Late Late Show Friday night along with Louise and Karen, the ladies who look after him.

His odds have been cut from 5/1 into 4/1 to become the first horse to win the RTE Sports Personality award. It would be no surprise as jockey Davy Russell had said after his emphatic victory on Saturday that Tiger Roll is so intelligent, he even knows his own name and when it was called out during the parade in Aintree, he pricked his ears.
