Enable-King-George

Enable Set For King George & Prix De L’Arc Double?

Only two horses have managed to win the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes twice.

Enable, who won this race back in 2017 with Frankie Dettori, will now try to emulate Dahlia in 1973/74 and Swain in 1997/98 by becoming the third horse to win it a second time.

Although she was just 3-years of age and getting weight when winning by four and a half lengths to beat Ulysses and Idaho, she is well fancied ahead of Ascot’s Group 1 feature at 8/13.

Enable is aiming for her 9th Group 1 success and the John Gosden-trained mare became only the third of her sex to win the Eclipse earlier this month.

The two-time winner of the Prix de l’Arc is aiming to become the first horse to win the title for a third time with the odds now 5/4, cut from 6/4.

It’s 2/1 that this champion mare will complete the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes and Prix de l’Arc double.

After a break of 188 days, Crystal Ocean has won all of his three starts including the Prince Of Wales Stakes during the Royal Ascot Stakes and we make the Sir Michael Stoute trained star the 11/4 second favourite.

With the final declarations still to come, Aidan O’Brien could have four runners in the race with his best chance being the Epsom Derby champion Anthony Van Dyck who is 13/2. Anthony will be aiming to redeem himself after his Irish Derby loss to stablemate Sovereign
