Hamann: Roy Keane My First Choice For Ireland Job

Roy Keane is the right man to become the next Republic of Ireland manager.

That’s according to former German international and TV Pundit Didi Hamann who regularly appears on RTÉ as part of their coverage of Republic of Ireland matches.

Hamann has been critical of late of the current state of Irish football performances and results under Stephen Kenny.

Along with the current state of Irish football, Hamann also discusses potential replacements for ten Hag at Man United (and if top managers would even want the job anymore) and Harry Kane’s impact at Bayern Munich.

Roy Keane My First Choice For The Ireland Job

Roy Keane would be my first choice for the Ireland job! The national side doesn’t have a sponsor for the senior team yet, and Roy would give them five or ten sponsors straight away!

I’m not saying that’s the only reason they should consider Roy, because we all know he can manage at the highest level.

He’s a very well-respected man on and off the pitch. I’m not sure if he’ll take the job, but people tell me he may.

He’d be the first one I’d speak to. He’d be my choice.

Roy Keane is 16/1 to become the next Republic of Ireland Manager according to BoyleSports latest football betting odds.

Irish Fans Deserve Better

Ireland have a few players in the Premier League and a lot of them play in the Championship. It’s a good standard and they have two outstanding goalkeepers along with Evan Ferguson and others.

I don’t know who they go after, but I just hope they make a wise decision. When I said ‘rock bottom’, I meant how they had 40,000 against Greece and thousands left before the final whistle, whilst the remaining fans couldn’t be bothered to boo the side!

I hope the FAI don’t take the fans for granted as they turned up every time Ireland played at home.

Most of the time, they left disappointed. The fans deserve better.

Nagelsmann To Replace ten Hag At Man United?

I think the problem Man United might face is their team. If it were up to me, I wouldn’t know where to start!

They need players in every area on the pitch. A few years ago, Ralf Ragnick said the same thing. It depends on who they get.

I’m not sure if the top-class managers go to Manchester United because they know that it’s a three or five-year job.

I think it’s impossible to win the league within three years, but those expectations will always be there if a new manager comes in and spends a few quid.

The other question revolves around how much money the new manager gets. Nagelsmaan has done well and he did good things at Bayern. He’s an up-and-coming manager who has shown he can win titles, even if was unfortunate in the Champions League.

He’d certainly be somebody you’d have a good feeling about. He knows how to play football, but it depends if he was backed. You need to back your manager for two or three seasons, and I don’t know if that’s the case at Man United. There’s a lot of chaos at Old Trafford. However, I don’t think Julian would be a bad choice.

You don’t want to keep managers for the sake of it, but you need to at least give them a chance.

Differences Between Bundesliga & Premier League

The English game is quicker, and that’s the biggest difference.

That’s why I thought Gravenberch and Szoboszlai would struggle at first.

Bundesliga players tend to take a couple of weeks to settle into the Premier League as the game is quicker and more physical. Both players, however, took to the league like a duck to water, and that was surprising.

Harry Kane’s Impact At Bayern

Kane-Mania In Bavaria

Harry Kane has been brilliant at Bayern, even if the team aren’t playing at their best.

Harry has scored 12 goals now, and he’s scored so many different types of goals – headers, volleys, and one from his own half! I think he loves life in Munich.

Everybody appreciates him and everyone is in Kane-mania! The football is going well, the team is winning, and he’s scoring goals. Happy days!

Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich are 2/9 in the latest football betting odds at BoyleSports to win the Bundesliga.

Can Kane be one of the best-ever Bundesliga signings?

Harry Kane probably won’t be in Germany for a long time as he only has five or six years left. Let’s not forget that Robert Lewandowski was here for over a decade!

In terms of publicity and recognition, I think Kane is the biggest signing in recent Bundesliga history.

It’s great for the German league as, outside of Germany, people are starting to notice.
