Elliott To Enjoy The Trip At Tramore

Tramore provided a few surprise results yesterday but a couple of shorter priced runners should be able to oblige as jump racing returns to the seaside venue on Sunday.

Blackmore Blazing A Trail
Rachael Blackmore’s remarkable story at the head of the jockeys championship looks likely to continue into September after her brace here earlier in the week and the current leading jockey can notch up another winner today courtesy of Native Lass.

Blackmore’s partner, Brian Hayes, has been riding this eight-year-old for Mick Winters lately and the mare has been knocking on the door lately and this looks a suitable opportunity for her to return to winning ways.

Native Lass was second over two miles and two and a half miles on her last two starts and the two mile trip here is probably her most favourable and while she might not want too much rain to arrive…

her consistency should be rewarded on this occasion.

Elliott To Enjoy The Trip
The 6/4 on offer isn’t very appealing but Mill Quest should win the handicap chase for Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy.

The eight-year-old mare has been busy since joining Elliott’s yard and in the summer months she has raced six times, winning three of those, and this should be a fourth from seven.

Mill Quest went up 9lbs in the ratings for winning a handicap hurdle at Downpatrick last Sunday and Elliott has gone the other end of the country in search of this opportunity which will see Mill Quest run off a chase rating of just 105.

That is 21lbs below her new revised chase rating so Mill Quest would look to have a bit in hand of her rivals here and…

should be able to justify favouritism with a clear round.

Elliott would have other chances on the card too but Osco Mosco would be the most obvious in the mares beginners chase.

Elliott has won the race for the last two seasons and has the pick of the hurdlers lining up in this years renewal. If the five-year-old can make a smooth transition to the larger obstacles…

she should be hard to beat under Davy Russell.

Recommended Bets:
Native Lass (5/1) – 4.50 Tramore
Mill Quest (6/4) – 4.15 Tramore
Osco Mosco (2/1) – 3.45 Tramore
