Galway Races 2017 Day 4 Betting Tips – Niall Cronin
Two winners and a second in the big races so far at Galway this week, and expect Willie Mullins to be standing in a familiar spot after the Galway Hurdle this afternoon.
Ruby’s Going For The Max
A good round of jumping and a bit of luck in running and Max Dynamite could look like one of the best handicapped horses all week. The seven-year-old has been second in a Galway Hurdle before when following home Quick Jack two years ago, his last outing over hurdles, and he’s been second in a Melbourne Cup among other quality flat races, but this time he is expected to have his day, despite over a year off the track.
For those who want to take on Max Dynamite, there are enough reasons to satisfy you, but the word is that his work is good and one yard where you wouldn’t be worried about the lack of a run is Willie Mullins’.
With Clondaw Warrior carrying top weight and leaving Max Dynamite with just 10st10lbs he makes plenty of appeal but it is the Galway Hurdle and it won’t be easily won. JP McManus has a strong team, headed by Tigris River and Timiyan but Project Bluebook could be one at a price that runs the best in the green and gold.
Max Dynamite will definitely have to jump better than two years ago, but if he does, he’ll have a big say here.
Path To Victory
Tribal Path ran a cracking race behind the very well in Pincheck last week and a repeat of that effort gives him a chance in the two-mile handicap.
Knockmaole Boy is an obvious choice as he looks to back up Tuesday’s win, but Tribal Path was threatening to run better with each run of late and certainly stepped up plenty last time.
If he can run up to that again today, he’ll surely go close from a good draw.
Tribal Path (11/1) – 2.50 Galway
Max Dynamite (4/1) – 4.35 Galway
