Eight heats await in the 2022 BoyleSports Irish Greyhound Derby this weekend with five odds-on shots fancied to go into the quarter-finals.

Vincenzo is the shortest price favourite across the heats with the Patrick Guilfoyle speedster well housed in the black jacket.

This Shelbourne Champion 550 winner clocked a very fast 29.45 in the second-round last week and he is expected to bring his tally of wins to twelve on Saturday evening.

BoyleSports have already trimmed this son of Droopys Sydney and Alien Nipper into 4/9 from 4/7 with the likes of Fernandes and Gortkelly Nestor expected to put in some big performances.

Explosive Boy is the 10/11 favourite to win heat one for Patrick Guilfoyle with this 2022 Dundalk International winner unbeaten in the competition so far.

Tullig Raven is his main danger with 4/1 on offer. Heat winner Bockos Crystal is 9/2 for trainer Graham Holland.

Heat two is the heat of the night with Ballymac Finn and Romeo Magico both 6/4 joint favourites. Throw in the likes of Mustang Jet, Magical Kuba, Killeacle Phelps and Stefans Rock and we have one hell of a race.

Born Warrior is the 4/7 favourite to win heat five for Jennifer O’Donnell. He will have Crafty Kokoro hot on his heels at 4/1 and veteran Beach Avenue at 8/1.

Heat six is all about the ante pot favourite Coolavanny Hoffa who 4/6 to get the better of 2/1 shot Ballinabola Ed. This should be a cracking contest with both dominating the ante post betting.

Bockos Budsit is a short 4/7 to win heat seven with Skywalker Barry great value at 4/1 as we haven’t seen the best of him yet.

Shelbourne Park will be busy but if you can’t make it then RPGTV (sky channel 437) will be covering the racing live as well as free streaming from the sponsors.
