Six Nations Trophy

Irish Injuries See Odds Of Victory Over France Eased

Confirmation of Ireland’s line-up has stemmed the tide of patriotic punters getting behind Andy Farrell’s men to bounce back from their opening day defeat to Wales by denting the hopes of new Six Nations favourites France in Dublin on Sunday.

The betting for the tournament took on a completely different look after just one weekend with Ireland reeling from a shock defeat in Cardiff and England losing their favourite’s tag after going down to Scotland at Twickenham.

France have been backed down to strong 21/20 favourites from 5/2 to win their first Six Nations title in over a decade ahead of their trip to Dublin, with Antoine Dupont the runaway 3/1 favourite to be crowned Player of the Tournament following his man of the match performance in Rome.

There are four changes in the Irish line-up for the Valentine’s Day clash, with Peter O’Mahony serving the first of his three-match suspension and injuries for Johnny Sexton, James Ryan and Conor Murray.

Ireland had been backed into 6/4 from 13/8 during the week to bounce back with a win, but have now been eased back out to 7/4

…with France shortening into 8/15 from 8/13 to make it two wins from two.

Ireland’s outright chances have also drifted to 8/1 from 7/2, with England deemed the main dangers to France as 7/2 second favourites.
