Galway United are 4/11, Bray are currently 7/1 while the draw is 10/3

Preview

Galway remains on another level to every other League of Ireland First Division team this season following their 4-0 away victory in Ferrycarrig Park. They went nine points clear at the top of the table despite only being eight matches into the season with twenty-three goals scored and just three conceded.

It’s this early season form that has seen them installed as 1/2 favourites for the League of Ireland First Division title. Bray comes into this fixture following a 1-0 home victory over Athlone after bouncing back from their first defeat of the season losing 2-1 to Cobh Ramblers.

Their fifteen points from four wins and three defeats is good enough for them to currently be second in the table. They know if they can pull off a shock victory against Galway they could reduce the gap at the top to six points,

Galway United v Bray Wanderers Prediction

Galway will eventually drop points, but I don’t think it is this week so I’m predicting a 2-1 win for Galway United.

Athlone Town v Cobh Ramblers Preview

When? 7.45 pm, Friday, April 14th

Where? Athlone Town Stadium, Athlone

MATCH BETTING ODDS

Athlone Town are 11/10, Cobh Ramblers are 19/10  while the draw is 13/5.

Preview

Athlone comes into the match after two defeats a 1-0 away defeat to Bray and a 3-1 defeat at home v Galway despite taking the lead. Despite this Athlone are having a much better season than last season and their ten-point tally is enough for 5th as they look to secure a shock play-off place this season.

Cobh suffered a 3-1 home defeat to the resurgent Waterford side last Friday Night but that doesn’t take away from what has been an excellent start of the season for Shane Keegan’s side with fourteen points from their opening ten matches.

If Cobh can win on Friday their seventeen points total could put them as high as second but would definitely mean that they’d create a gap between themselves and Athlone of seven points, while a win for Athlone would reduce the gap to one point.

Athlone Town v Cobh Ramblers Prediction

Jack Doherty is to be the difference-maker again for Cobh Ramblers to win 2-1.

Waterford FC v Kerry FC Preview

When? 7.45 pm, Friday, April 7th

Where? Regional Sports Centre, Waterford

How To Watch? LOITV.ie

MATCH BETTING ODDS

Waterford are giant favourites at 1/20, Kerry can be gotten at 28/1 while the draw is 10/1.

Preview

Early season favourites Waterford since appointing Keith Long are finally showing what everyone expected for them at the beginning of the season winning their last two matches and beating Finn Harps 7-1 in a home victory along with a 3-1 away win over the impressive Cobh Ramblers.

Ten points off Galway United with a game in hand they might not be catchable yet but a win for Waterford could bring them up to second in the table if results went their way.

In their maiden League of Ireland, season Kerry has two points after eight matches as they continue to look for their first win of the season. Last time out they had a 1-1 home draw v a struggling Finn Harps side even taking the lead but were unable to hold on for their first-ever win.

They come into this match as massive outsiders against wealthy Waterford but that might allow them to play without fear.

Waterford FC v Kerry FC Prediction

This is my banker of the week Waterford 3-1 Kerry.

Waterford FC to Win 3-0, 3-1 or 3-2 @ 14/5 is the best bet here.

Finn Harps v Treaty United Preview

When? 7.30 pm, Friday, April 7th

Where? Ballybofey, Donegal

How To Watch? LOITV.ie

MATCH BETTING ODDS

Finn Harps are 7/5, Treaty are 7/4 while the draw is 11/5

Preview

Finn Harps are not in good form and are without a victory in their last three matches, last Friday Night they drew 1-1 away to Kerry, the week before they had been thrashed 7-1 by Waterford away from home.

It’s not been an easy start to the job for Dave Rogers, but the well-experienced young coach will back himself to be successful at the club even still. A win could put them as high as fifth and just outside a playoff spot.

Treaty has been in poor form this season with only six points from their opening seven matches. However, signs have been better in recent weeks. Their dramatic 3-2 victory over Longford meant they their points tally for the season was doubled to six. Treaty have also only one defeat in their last five matches.

Finn Harps v Treaty United Prediction

Treaty are progressing nicely and I feel Finn Harps are still vulnerable 2-1 win for Treaty United.

Longford v Wexford Preview

When? 7.30 pm, Saturday, April 15th

Where? Bishopsgate, Longford

How To Watch? LOITV.ie

MATCH BETTING ODDS

Longford  are 17/10 to win this match, Wexford are 7/5 while the draw is 21/10

Preview

Longford has flattered to deceive this year with only six points in their opening eight matches they occupy 8th in the table with Treaty just below them having a game in hand. Josh Giurgi seems to only spark of life for Stephen Henderson’s side with 3 Goals and 1 Assist in his opening eight matches from the RB/RM position.

A win for Longford on Saturday will help put them back in playoff contention and allow them to stay in touch with the other contenders. Wexford comes into this after their 4-0 humbling at home to the imperious Galway United.

That defeat meant it is three matches without a win for the side whose last victory came in a narrow 2-1 win over Kerry back in March. Wexford will want to spark themselves back into form and know that victory on Saturday in Longford could bring them up to fifth on the table.

Longford Town v Wexford Prediction

Two out-of-form sides this could go either way, but I think Wexford have enough about them to win 2-0.

We also recently previewed the weekend of action ahead in the League of Ireland Premier Division.
