In this post you can find our League of Ireland Premier Division tips and odds ahead of Gameweek 12 of the season.

League Of Ireland Premier Division Table

Here’s how the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division table looks after Round Eleven!

Shelbourne v Cork City

When? 7.45 pm, Saturday, April 28th

Where? Dalymount Park, Dublin

How To Watch? RTÉ 2

Match Betting Odds

Shelbourne is 21/20, Cork City is 14/5  while the draw is at 21/10.

Preview

Shelbourne comes into this match following a spirited 1-1 draw at home to Dundalk. This was achieved despite the fact Shelbourne was reduced to ten men early in the match with a 10th-minute red card for Shane Farrell, but the subsequent penalty was saved superbly by Conor Kearns.

Shelbourne are a well-drilled and coached outfit who are extremely tough to beat with them currently sixth with three wins, five draws and three defeats. They have only scored nine goals and only conceded eight.

Led by former Ireland International Duff who gets a divisive figure across the league but his interviews and characters are inarguably box-office!

Cork City since promotion from the First Division has flattered to deceive, after a decent start they now have only nine points from their opening eleven matches as they occupy ninth on the table. The mood down South is not good with fans divided and disputing where is the route to their problems, The Owner? The Manager? The Players? All of the above? Or an assortment of them all?

Last time out they lost to Derry City in Turners Cross 3-1 after poor defensive errors were capitalised on by the much stronger Derry side.

Prediction

Shelbourne did a job on Cork City in Turners Cross earlier in the season 2-0 back in March and in the reverse fixture I suspect the same,

Shebourne 2-0 Cork City

Dundalk v Drogheda United

When? 7.45 pm, Friday, April 28th

Where? Oriel Park, Dundalk

How To Watch? LOITV.ie

Match Betting Odds

Dundalk is 20/23, Drogheda is 14/5, while e the draw is 5/2.

Preview

Dundalk have been disappointing this season with only thirteen points from their opening eleven matches following a record of three wins, four draws and four defeats which is a far cry from where fans expected the club to be this season.

Last Friday they faced Shelbourne away from home and despite having a penalty and an extra man for the majority of the match they could only manage a 1-1 draw with Shelbourne. Fans’ frustrations have been frequent this season with fans turning to Twitter to voice their frustration again.

A win for Dundalk on Friday could bring them up to fifth though and back in European Contention which shows how close the league is this season.

Drogheda fluttered with the top of the table momentarily at the start of the season but now in eighth position just behind Dundalk on goal difference, Drogheda are probably where many expected them to be at the start of the season now.

Last Friday they can consider themselves unlucky to be beaten by Bohemians 2-0 after having more possession and shots but the League Leaders were just too clinical. A win for Drogheda could also bring them up to fifth on the table.

Prediction

In the last Louth Derby, Dundalk got a fortunate 1-0 away victory. These are tight affairs and Dundalk is out of form but I think they still win this.

Dundalk 2-1 Drogheda

Shamrock Rovers v Sligo Rovers

When? 8.00 pm, Friday, April 28th

Where? Tallaght Stadium, Dublin

How To Watch? LOITV.ie

Match Betting Odds

Shamrock Rovers are 2/5, Sligo Rovers is 11/2  and the draw is 7/2.

Preview

Shamrock Rovers are back! Their 2-0 away victory over St Patrick’s Athletic last Friday made it four victories in their last five matches to put them on 18-points after eleven games and now they’re only one point behind Derry City in second and six-behind Bohemians in first place.

They seem to now be back to their best after an arguably unlucky start to the season and a win could put them in second place and only three points behind Bohemians if results go their way. The four-in-a-row is still very much on let’s see how the Johnny Kenny Derby goes…

Sligo Rovers come into this match after a 3-1 victory over UCD last season to make it 16-points in their opening eleven matches putting many people’s predictions of a relegation battle at the beginning of the season to shame. A win-shock win for Sligo on Friday could bring them up to as high as second on the table.

Prediction

Shamrock Rovers should be too good in the battle of “The Rovers”.

Shamrock Rovers 3-0 Sligo Rovers

UCD v Bohemians

When? 7.45 pm, Friday, April 28th

Where? The UCD Bowl, Dublin

How To Watch? LOITV.ie

Match Betting Odds

UCD are 7/1, Bohemians are 2/5 while the draw is 16/5.

Preview

UCD are currently bottom of the table with only five points coming from their opening eleven matches they seemed destined to but cut a drift at the bottom this season. However, despite their 3-1 defeat from Sligo Rovers last Saturday their 1-0 victory over Cork City in their previous game to that means they’re only four points off them in ninth position.

UCD know if they can pull off another shock on Friday then they could reduce the gap between themselves and Cork City to just a point. Bohemians still lead the Premier Division with 24 points from their opening eleven matches good enough for a six-point lead at the top from closest challengers Derry City.

They showed an arguable “Champion” mentality last Friday beating Drogheda away from home despite having fewer shots and possession they still ground out a victory.  Bohemians know that no matter the result on Friday they will remain top of the table for at least one more week.

Prediction

Bohemians are very consistent this season.

UCD 0-3 Bohemians

Derry City FC v St Patrick’s Athletic

When? 7.45 pm, Friday, April 21st

Where? The Brandywell, Derry

How To Watch? LOITV.ie

Match Betting Odds

Derry City is 7/10, St Patrick’s Athletic can be gotten at 15/4 while the draw is currently 13/5.

Preview

Derry City ended their stuttering three games without a win last Friday Night following a comfortable 3-1 away victory in Turners Cross in what was a fiery affair with controversy both on and off the field incidents taking the headlines rather than the football itself.

If Derry can win on Friday Night they could reduce the gap between themselves and Bohemians to two points.

St Patrick’s Athletic lost at home 2-0 to cross-town rivals Shamrock Rovers last Friday which ended their four-game winning and five-match unbeaten run.

St Patrick’s Athletic look a different outfit to the team that started the season with the pressure on Tim Clancy significantly eased after their run of form they are now fourth on the table. If they win on Friday they could go as high as second and only four points off Bohemians at the top of the table.

Prediction

This is a tough one to call so I’m going with a scoring draw.

Derry City 1-1 St Patrick’s Athletic
