Leo Varadkar Cut To Hold Onto Taoiseach Role

The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has received a huge boost this week to remain as the leader of the country after his price plummeted on Saturday morning.

Varadkar has offered a stark warning that the next government will only suffer “disappointment and defeat” and has told any party considering going into government that it won’t be easy trying to get the country back on track after the Coronavirus pandemic.

The Fine Gael leader is now 11/10 from 4/1 to remain as Taoiseach, the shortest price he has been in months.

Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin has been eased from the hot 1/3 favourite and is now 8/11.

As further talks with Fianna Fail and Fine Gael are to continue next week to form a government, the two parties will need further support from a number of others to gather the 80 seats needed for a majority. It’s now 9/4 that the next government will consist of FF/FG/Labour/Independents after the odds were hammered from 12/1.
